Operating Mechanism of High Voltage Switch

The operating mechanism is a supporting device for the high-voltage switch. Using the operating mechanism to complete the opening and closing of the high-voltage switch can keep the operator at a sufficient distance from the live part.And the operating mechanism can also provide sufficient speed and mechanical force for high-voltage switch opening and closing .The operating mechanism cooperates with the control switch and the relay protection device, and can also realize the remote control and automatic operation of the high-voltage switch. The commonly used operating mechanisms for high-voltage switches include manual operating mechanisms, spring energy storage operating mechanisms and electromagnetic operating mechanisms.

(1) Manual operating mechanism

The CS6 manual operating mechanism is a lever-type operating mechanism with a positioning pin, which is mainly used for manual opening and closing of the isolation switch. During operation, the positioning pin must be pulled out first; after operation, the positioning pin enters the corresponding positioning hole under the action of the spring, which plays a self-locking role.

CS2 type manual operating mechanism is an operating mechanism that can be equipped with instantaneous overcurrent release, delayed overcurrent release, shunt release and voltage loss release. It is widely used in rated voltage 10KV, open Operation of oil-less circuit breaker and 10KV load switch with breaking current below 6KA. It adopts manual closing, manual opening or release opening.

(2) Spring energy storage operating mechanism

The mechanism is equipped with a closing spring. The closing spring can be charged manually or by a motor. The operating mechanism is closed by the closing spring, and the opening is realized by the opening spring. The spring energy storage operating mechanism can be equipped with a variety of releases. The energy power of the spring operating mechanism is small, the action is fast, and it can realize automatic reclosing; but its structure is complex and the action impact force is large. The spring energy storage operating mechanism is mainly used for the opening and closing operations of the oil-less circuit breaker.

(3) Electromagnetic operating mechanism

The mechanism consists of a closing electromagnet, a free tripping mechanism and a transmission part. The electromagnetic operating mechanism is closed by the DC solenoid electromagnet; the opening is realized by the opening spring. The electromagnetic operating mechanism can be equipped with a variety of releases, which is convenient for remote control and automatic reclosing, and the manufacturing process is relatively simple; however, a high-power DC power supply is required, and the voltage change has a greater impact on the closing speed. The electromagnetic operating mechanism is mainly used for the opening and closing operations of the oil-less circuit breaker.
